Starting a blog can be fun and exciting. And you do not need to become a geek or a technical genius to be successful. There are basic steps to follow and there are many things you can tweak as you go.

First you need to find a decent blogging provider that appeals to you. There are many to choose from. Look for a site with pre-made templates and push-button publishing that do not require much technical know-how.

Once you have selected your provider and signed up, you will have a selection of ready-made templates to choose from. Select one and personalize it by adding your name, images, etc.

Explore other sites for information. First add freebies like buttons, blog chalks, images, imoods, tagboards, guestbooks, readers input and so on. And for a small fee its a good idea to add other features that will help in the future as you progress.

Since you are starting a blog to make money on the Internet you then desire to have any Internet visitor to be able to read your blog. This is what will generate your income. Otherwise, there are private sites that are password-protected that are not for you.
