How do you tell if certain clothes are stylish or not? If they are really hot, they will be in sync with the latest designs and colors. When you really wear what's trendy, people consider you to be 'en vogue.' Fashion week in New York sets the stage for the hot and upcoming trends. Models strut the runways wearing the inspirations for many of the popular styles of the upcoming season. Those who keep an eye on the fashion world know what New York is churning out and are always aware of the latest trends in fashion.

There was a time when it was considered that trendy clothes were only for women who were a size two, four or six. They were a definite no-no for a plus size woman. But all this is changing now and designers have finally realized that ALL women would like to wear clothes that look good on them and that ALL women want to look sexy and feel good in what they are wearing.

If you follow the latest trend in clothing you will end up spending a great deal of money and it won't be the best choice for plus sized stylish women on a limited income.

Wearing clothes that look good on you is the most important thing. Better to wear something classic that suits your coloring, body size, shape, personality and lifestyle then to wear something that is trendy but does not quite spell you. You will not feel comfortable and exude an air of self assurance if you wear something that is so 'not you' so keep this in mind when you prepare for your next shopping excursion, whether it be online or at your nearest shopping mall.

Once you have located a specific type of clothing that works for you, do not change without reason. Remember that each of you is an individual, and clothes will hang differently between any two people. One of the things to keep an eye on is color. Some ladies enjoy wearing black because it positively accentuates their features.

Never buy a black outfit that is too loose or too tight as neither will be appealing to your figure. Be careful about wearing black too close to your face. Black near the face can be somber looking for some ladies but might be fine for others. If a deep shade of black is not for you then go for an inky black or try a charcoal or a gray shade. Gray does not have to be boring. Experiment with different shades of gray. For example a silver fox gray is very appealing for lots of plus size ladies.
